The Basics
These Schaef Designs Originals are one of a kind and a collection of charms, vintage & pawn Native American jewelry, re-purposed in many occassions to be part of this necklace. Items are in vintage and well-loved condition which is part of the magic of a treasure like this.
Bead charms are hand-crafted with gemstones, turquoise and sterling silver custom made head pins with just the right amount of patina to compliment the vintage charms. All items are secured to a heavy sterling silver chain and completed with the Schaef Designs silver tag near the toggle closure. The assortment of charms & pendants are the result of careful collecting over a period of time...sometimes years.
An unusual pairing of Labradorite with loads of blue flash, irridescent multi colored abalone, powder blue turquoise & sterling silver make an unexpected statement in this beauty.
The Charms
Center focal charm is a large powder blue turquoise pendant adorned with sterling silver bezel setting and leaves.
Next on each side is a pair of large sterling silver feathers with a turquoise cabachon set in a saw-tooth bezel. The details of the feathers are stunning.
Next is are 2 of Gary G for Rocki Gorman Saguaro Cactus Charms. The turquoise is a smidge different in each one. The cactus is set in a raised sterling silver bezel and adorned with Old Santa Fe Style silver rosettes. Both are artist signed Gary G and stamped Rocki.
Next on each side is a pair of repurposed artist signed "MJ" (in script) turquoise & hand-stamped sterling silver oval concho earring pendants.
Next is a pair of sterling silver & turquoise charms with labradorite.
Next to the right is an old style stamped cross sterling silver charm. Finishing the right side is a small silver native american shield with feathers charm.
Next on the left is a 3d movable sterling silver stagecoach charm and finishing off that side is a heavy silver bison buffalo.
Smaller abalone and labradorite bead charms are interspersed with the primary charms while larger bead charms provide the perfect back drop for these fabulous old pieces.
Necklace measures 18 1/4 inches total length including toggle closure and approx. 17 3/4 inches closed.
