Schaef Designs Organic Medicine Woman Peruvian Opal Amethyst Carved Turquoise & Ammonite Necklace
ONE OF A KIND!
This is the first of Schaef Designs "Medicine Woman Collection". These necklaces are inspired by Native American medicine bags and are a collection of gemstones, turquoise, fossils and mineral plus coins, feathers, leather and much more. Gemstones and minerals have been thought to have healing properties for centuries by many cultures. Typical powers ascribed to medicine bags and their items include increasing hunting abilities, aiding one's life coping skills, healing allies, hindering enemies and altering the weather. See the page on healing properties of gemstones on the home page for more details on the healing properties.
These designs are made of items that seem to want to be together and are created as such. This pendant pairs amethyst nuggets with carved floral turquoise, peruvian opals, ammonites (one opalized, amber, coins and brown iris beads over 30 years old and no longer made. Sprinkled in are some pieces of gold coral. Stones are hand linked with sterling silver to form this waterfall of beauty and mystery. The necklace is made of sterling silver beads paired with more brown iris as well as vintage faceted glass beads. The closure is a large heavy hook and eye substantial to support the treasures on this necklace as well as easy to close by the wearer.
